GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE CO-224
Kremmling, Colorado
June 15, 7:15 a.m.
Sunrise at 5:35 a.m.
Here is the bicycle-stopping green-tailed towhee who sang beside the road, the sun behind him, a halo outlining his entire body.
In ten songs, he delivers four different ones, in the following pattern: A B A B A C D C D C.
Complex and exhilarating songs, I'd say, a nice series of tonal and buzzy notes, with slow to rapidly repeated trills, reminding me a little of fox sparrows.
