STELLER'S JAY ID-303
Cambridge, Idaho
May 28, 9:15 a.m.
Sunrise at 6:05 a.m.
Why a Steller's jay chooses to call when he does, and why he chooses a particular intonation to his call will forever, I believe, be a mystery. Nevertheless, it's always good to hear what they have on their mind.
Here it is, bursts of 3-8 harsh notes, and he continues as he moves off into the distance.
Background
Chipmunk; American robin, black-headed grosbeak, lazuli bunting, house wren, red squirrel.
