DARK-EYED JUNCO OR-375
The Pacific Coast, South Beach State Park, Newport, Oregon
May 21, 5:52 a.m.
Sunrise at 5:42 a.m.
A highly repetitive dark-eyed junco, with 22 songs over two and a half minutes, about nine songs per minute, all of the same kind.
Listen to the two spotted towhees in the background from 0:39 to 1:05. Five times it seems that they spar, the nearer male singing his song immediately after the more distant male, each singing a song that seems like a good match to that of the other.
Background
American crow, chestnut-backed chickadee, spotted towhee, olive-sided flycatcher, American robin, foghorn and the Pacific.
